The partnership is intended to enhance our impact as well as involve more businesses in the environmental movement.

1% for the Planet is an accountability partner for businesses that wish to give to environmental partners making a difference around the globe. Started in 2002 by Yvon Chouinard, founder of Patagonia, and Craig Mathews, founder of Blue Ribbon Flies, their members have given hundreds of millions of dollars to environmental partners.

To date, 1% for the Planet has channelled 672 million USD from business to environmental partners making a difference for the planet.

“The intent of 1% for the Planet is to help fund these diverse environmental organizations so that collectively they can be a more powerful source in solving the world’s problems,” writes Yvon Chouinard, co-founder of 1% for the Planet.

“We are delighted to have been accepted as environmental partners by 1% of the Planet and hope that their network of business partners will recognise the power of ecocide law. Clearly, more funds will enable us to speed up the process to get ecocide law in place”, says Nina Macpherson, Chair of Ecocide Law Alliance.
